Built proud and Sustainable
Sustainability
Waiotahi are committed to reducing waste within our operation, and we’ve implemented innovative solutions to make this a reality.
One such initiative is our bespoke app, designed to streamline the management of unused materials on job sites. Through this platform, project managers can upload details of surplus materials, allowing others within the organisation to access and repurpose these resources elsewhere. By facilitating the reuse of materials, we minimise waste generation and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
Our dedication to sustainability extends beyond the confines of our business operations and into the heart of our local community. As proud sponsors of the Whakatāne Kiwi Trust, we actively support their mission to protect and monitor kiwi populations in the Whakatāne area. Through initiatives such as pest trapping and wellness checks, we’re working alongside the Trust to ensure the continued survival and thriving of these iconic native birds.
Waiotahi also holds ISO 14001 certification for our environmental management systems, part of our ongoing commitment to minimising our environmental footprint. From our carpooling initiative to reduce vehicle emissions to promoting the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle across our branches and worksites, we aim to incorporate sustainability into every area of our business. Our operational staff also attend in-house environmental awareness training, giving them the knowledge and tools to implement sustainable practices on-site.
At Waiotahi, sustainability isn’t just a checkbox – it’s behind all of our business decisions. We recognise that our actions impact the health of the planet today and in the future. We’re committed to leaving a positive, lasting impact on the regions and communities we serve.
